NBC's most revered journalist is furious that Brian Williams is still in the anchor chair after he sheepishly admitted he hadn't traveled on a helicopter hit by enemy fire.

"Brokaw wants Williams' head on a platter," an NBC source said. "He is making a lot of noise at NBC that a lesser journalist or producer would have been immediately fired or suspended for a false report."

Brokaw, 74, was still the "Nightly News" anchor when Williams came back from his Iraq expedition — and an insider said he knew the story Williams later spouted was bunk.

"Tom Brokaw and [former NBC News President] Steve Capus knew this was a false story for a long time and have been extremely uncomfortable with it," the source said.

Two prominent black Democrats in the House of Representatives are vowing to skip Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to Congress next month, a move that a White House insider says was put in motion by the Obama administration.

John Lewis of Georgia and G.K. Butterfield of North Carolina both said Friday that they disapproved when House Speaker John Boehner invited the Israeli leader to address a joint session of Congress on March 3 without consulting President Barack Obama first.

That disapproval apparently was orchestrated, or at least strongly encouraged, by the White House through communications with lawmakers connected to the Congressional Black Caucus.

'I'm not saying the president called anyone personally,' a current White House staffer told Daily Mail Online.

'But yeah, the White House sent a message to some at the CBC that they should suddenly be very upset about the speech.'

Not since Santa Claus was in short pants has anyone been as generous as Obama when it comes to bestowing gifts.  But unlike Santa, Obama insists on rewarding those who have been naughty and turning into Scrooge when it comes to those who are nice.

Although all it would take to bring about immigration reform is for Obama to build a 21st century fence along our southern border, he keeps it as porous as possible because he wants the nation flooded with future Democrats.

Actually, before erecting a barrier that would solve the problem for the states in the southwest, Obama would be more likely to officially cede Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California, back to Mexico, and let Nevada, Oregon, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and Colorado, inherit the border problem.

In 2012, Obama was overheard telling the Russians that after the election he would be more flexible.  Putin got the message and soon consumed Crimea and made inroads into eastern Ukraine.

What we didn't realize was that behind closed doors, he must have told the Castro brothers and Iran's mullahs that on their behalf he would turn himself into a virtual Gumby.

According to Israpundit, the U.S. recently intervened in the Argentine probe of the 1994 bombing of the Jewish Cultural Center in Buenos Aires that killed 85 and seriously injured 151.

The probe, it seems, was getting uncomfortably close to identifying Ali Akbar Velayati, Iran's one-time Foreign Minister, as the mastermind of the plot.  The man has been on Interpol's most wanted list since 2007, and was the subject of an international arrest warrant.

So why would the U.S. intervene on his behalf?  Apparently it was because Iran made it a condition before agreeing to take part in the ongoing-going-nowhere nuclear negotiations.  Inasmuch as two of the countries taking part in the talks are Russia and China, otherwise known as Iran's major allies in the world, you can see how desperate Obama and Kerry are to have Iran merely seen sitting at the table.

But, then, this is the same administration that was so desperate to make it appear they were bringing peace to the Middle East that they paid the so-called Palestinians millions of dollars to remain at the negotiating table with Israel, even though everyone knew the talks between Israel and those sworn to her extinction were pointless.  With Obama, though, optics, as usual, is everything, which is why he used the State of the Union address as just another campaign speech.

I'm sure Obama and Kerry would insist it was just a coincidence that Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman was found shot to death just hours before he was scheduled to appear before the Argentine Congress to provide evidence that President Cristina Kirchner intentionally concealed Teheran's connection to the bombing.

Of course it isn't news when it comes to Argentina or the U.S. protecting Nazis from their just deserts; both made a habit of it after World War II.  Argentina did it because Juan Peron shared Hitler's politics; the U.S. because we craved Nazi know-how when it came to missiles and nuclear physics.

But the idea of shielding a mortal enemy nation merely for the sake of looking serious about Iran and its nuclear ambitions is a novel, despicable and absolutely indefensible motive.

The world, it should be said, is fortunate that the Islamics lack German brain power because they are in fact viler than the Nazis.  I have come to that conclusion because, one, the Nazis had nothing against the modern world except that it included Jews, Catholics, communists, gypsies, homosexuals and the physically/mentally retarded, but, mainly, because Germany didn't rule it.  They appreciated art and music, as well as architecture, literature, athletics and beautiful women.  It's only the Islamics who seek to return the world to the gutter of the 8th century.

Moreover, the Nazis sought by every means possible to conceal the cattle cars, slave labor and gas ovens, from the eyes of the world.  The Muslims, on the other hand, display their barbarism on social media and have turned beheadings and crucifixions into regular TV fare.

But proving that America isn't the only nation saddled with obnoxious politicians, former Israeli ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren, who is now running for a seat in the Knesset, called for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to cancel his address to Congress, lest it jeopardize the relationship between our two countries.

If I had Mr. Oren's ear, I would ask him just what relationship he has in mind.  The one I'm aware of is the one in which Obama never objects to Hamas firing missiles into Israel, but condemns Israel whenever Israel tries to put a stop to it.  The one I'm aware of is the one that winks at Iran's promoting terrorism around the globe, while condemning Israel for building apartment houses within its own borders. The pusillanimous one, in short, that calls Netanyahu "chickenshit" while simultaneously bowing and scraping to the followers of Islam.

To me, it sounds like Mr. Oren shouldn't be running for the Knesset, but, rather, for the U.S. Senate from, say, California, New York or Vermont.

While people kept wondering why the media made such a big deal out of the slightly underinflated balls New England used in creaming Indianapolis 45-7, I figured out that the liberal media hates patriots so much, they don't care if it's the name of a football team, a Republican candidate for president or an American hero named Chris Kyle.  The fact is the Patriots were so much better than the Colts, they'd have won even if their quarterback Tom Brady had been forced to throw Porky the Pig to his wide receivers.

Finally, I kept asking myself why Obama didn't swap some of those jihadists he keeps releasing from Gitmo for the Japanese hostages.  At least we would have finally had something to show for returning these unrepentant creeps to the battlefields of Syria, Iraq and Yemen.

All I could come up with was that our Santa Claus-wannabe didn't wish in any way to tarnish the generous spirit in which he showers gifts on ISIS, al Qaeda and the Taliban.

A legal team already challenging a Lafayette, California, high school over its use of Planned Parenthood personnel – including a self-described "pleasure activist" and another who led demonstrations at a "sex toy porn shop" – to teach public school sex-education classes now is accusing school officials of allowing a "Queer Straight Alliance" to bully students.

The Pacific Justice Institute dispatched a letter to officials at Acalanes High School in Lafayette asking for documents that would show what happened.

Pacific Justice said "students were singled out and ostracized for their beliefs."

Students reported that, on Jan. 29, members of the school's Queer Straight Alliance (QSA) took over all freshmen English classes to grill students about their beliefs and their parents' beliefs on LGBT issues

Pacific Justice said the QSA had students step forward to demonstrate whether they believed that being gay was a choice and whether their parents would be accepting if they "came out as gay."

Students who did not step forward were ridiculed and humiliated, Pacific Justice said.

"The QSA also gave students a handout of LGBT terminology such as 'pan-sexual,' 'demi-sexual,' 'gray gender,' and about a dozen other terms. The QSA also had students line up to demonstrate where they fell on the 'gender spectrum.'"

Along Main Street in a small South Carolina city, there is a war memorial honoring fallen World War I and II soldiers, dividing them into two categories: "white" and "colored."

Welborn Adams, Greenwood's white Democratic-leaning mayor, believes the bronze plaques are relics of the South's scarred past and should be changed in the spirit of equality, replaced like the "colored" water fountains or back entrances to the movie theater that blacks were once forced to use.

Yet the mayor's attempt to put up new plaques was blocked by a state law that brought the Confederate flag down from the Statehouse dome in 2000. The law forbids altering historical monuments in any way without approval from legislators.

Historians, black and white, have reservations about replacing the plaques, saying they should serve as a reminder of the once-segregated U.S. military.

"Segregation was the accepted social order of that time," said Eric Williams, who spent 32 years as a historian with the U.S. Park Service. "If we alter the monument, we alter its historical integrity."

The memorial is owned by the American Legion post in Greenwood and is on city property. On two of its sides, it lists soldiers who died in World War I and World War II that were from Greenwood County. A third side lists Korean and Vietnam War dead from the county without any racial distinction because the military was integrated by that time.[...]

Activist Joseph McGill, who spends the night in old slave cabins to get attention to preserve them, agrees. He says talk about switching plaques reminds him of schools that don't want students reading "Huckleberry Finn" because racially offensive language from the 1800s is in the book.

"That could just spread the perception that segregation did not exist or wasn't that bad," McGill said.

Chad Williams of Brandeis University near Boston has extensively studied black soldiers in World War I. He said he understands the desire to correct a historical injustice, but another sign explaining why the soldiers were separated by race is much more powerful and historically accurate.

"I think it is important to acknowledge the specific context in how African-American soldiers had to serve in the military," Williams said.

Lyin' Brian Williams To Take Himself Off Air "For Several Days"

LOS ANGELES — Brian Williams is stepping away temporarily from the "NBC Nightly News" amid questions about his memories of war coverage in Iraq, saying it has become "painfully apparent" to him that he has become a distracting news story.

In a memo Saturday to NBC News staff that was released by the network, the anchorman said that as managing editor of "NBC Nightly News" he is taking himself off the broadcast for several days. Lester Holt will fill in, Williams said.

"In the midst of a career spent covering and consuming news, it has become painfully apparent to me that I am presently too much a part of the news, due to my actions," Williams said in his memo.

"Upon my return, I will continue my career-long effort to be worthy of the trust of those who place their trust in us," he wrote.

Williams has apologized for falsely saying on the air that he was in a helicopter hit by a rocket-propelled grenade while in Iraq in 2003.

Questions have also been raised about his claim that he saw a body or bodies in the Hurricane Katrina floodwaters that hit New Orleans.

NBC News President Deborah Turness said in an internal memo Friday that the network has assigned the head of its own investigative unit to look into Williams' statements.

As Congress readies to reauthorize Michelle Obama's Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act this year, students and parents continue to post photographic evidence of the program's shortcomings.

The School Nutrition Association is weighing in, too.

" ... Some of USDA's regulations under the law have unnecessarily increased costs and waste for school meal programs and caused many students to swap healthy school meals for junk food fare," says SNA CEO Patricia Montague in a news release.

The group points out 1.4 million fewer children are eating school lunches since the rules championed by First Lady Michelle Obama were implemented.

That can easily be explained by some of the skimpy, moldy, mysterious and downright disgusting lunches being served to students.

Meanwhile, First Lady Michelle Obama is urging parents to do more.

"I want you to really dive into this issue in your schools, your organizations, community, your company, your family, wherever you are a leader and decision-maker. Dive in. If Robert Wood Johnson can invest half a billion dollars ... surely we can push the envelope and aim just a little higher in our own efforts," Obama said at a speech announcing the foundation's contribution to "healthy" food initiatives, according to Newsday.

"We've seen the progress we can make," the first lady said, "when we educate parents and we help them make healthier decisions."

In a sign of the growing pressure Hillary Clinton faces from the left, the Working Families Party is considering backing the movement to draft Sen. Elizabeth Warren to run for President, the Daily News has learned.

One person said the effort was not so much a bid to get the Massachusetts senator to run but to "Warrenize Hillary" by pushing her to adopt more liberal policies.

At a meeting of the WFP's advisory council last week, executive committee members wanted to bring the idea to a vote, sources said.

Those pushing to publicly back Warren — who has said she will not run for President — included Communications Workers of America, a union that represents 70,000 local members; the labor-backed New York Communities for Change; and the community group Make the Road New York.

"It was clear that CWA, Make the Road and NYCC wanted to leave the meeting saying, 'We want to support Warren,'" a source said.[...]

The campaign "is 100% focused on getting Elizabeth Warren into the race," said Democracy for America spokesman Neil Sroka. "As an added benefit, it also shows whoever ends up being the nominee that there's a strong grassroots movement that wants a candidate focused on income inequality issues from Day One."

The group has reached out to unions and elected leaders about joining the movement.

"I was happy to hear the WFP is evening considering this issue," Sroka said. "You can be fans of Clinton and also want to see Warren in this race. A battle of ideas only makes the Democratic party stronger."
