Pakistani Gunmen Kill Man Accused Of "Blasphemy" Against The "Prophet" Mohammed

Or as it is known in Pakistan, "Hump Day."

With the world still stunned by the massacre in Paris, Pakistan is living through yet another example of the brutal street justice that is meted out here when someone is accused of disrespecting the prophet Muhammad.

On Wednesday morning, masked gunmen kidnapped a 52-year-old man from his house in eastern Punjab province. A little later, Aabid Mehmood's body was found riddled with bullets in a nearby village.

Police are investigating the case, but it appears that Mehmood may have been executed in connection with three-year-old allegations that he had disrespected the Islamic faith.

Mehmood, who is thought to suffer from mental illness, was accused of blasphemy in 2011 after he allegedly told someone that he was a prophet.

In Pakistan — officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan — there can be only one prophet. And the country's strict blasphemy law states that anyone who insults Muhammad — even by "innuendo" — can be accused of the crime, which is punishable by death.

Amazing Video Shows Seattle Police Being Shot At
While Questioning A Suspect,
They Pull Him To Safety

(Wow, the first thought of the officers was to save the suspect, and cover him with their bodies.  Those are cops.  You see one of them stand up in the line of fire, move out of frame, for what I think is to protect and pull down the female who was being interviewed.  Best part ever?  Suspect on the ground to the police about the shooter? "You don't let that mother******  get away!"...)

SEATTLE – Police have released video from a patrol car's dashcam that was rolling New Year's Eve as a gunman opened fire toward officers on a South Seattle street.

VIDEO:

The shooting came minutes after police responded to a second report of a domestic violence incident at a home in the 4200 block of South Eddy Street.

Officers were first called to the home shortly after 10 p.m. after receiving a report of a domestic dispute between a man and woman. Officers investigated the incident and left the scene to complete their report.

Around 10:30 p.m., police returned to the home a second time after receiving another 911 call from the victim, who said the suspect had kicked a door and was making threats.

The suspect came outside and was being interviewed by officers as he sat on the hood of a patrol car parked on the side of the street. It was all very routine, as recorded by the patrol car's dashcam.

Then suddenly the mundane became terrifying as a vehicle pulled up rapidly behind the patrol car and another vehicle stopped farther down the block. Officers heard gunfire and quickly took cover behind the patrol car, shielding the domestic violence suspect, then returned fire.

Voices can be heard yelling during the incident, then the gunman's car pulled away. No one was injured by the gunfire.

Three officers involved in the incident are on paid administrative leave, per standard department policy. The officers include a nine-year veteran with the department, a five-year veteran and another experienced officer, who was serving his first day on patrol in Seattle after transferring from another police agency out-of-state.

Detectives are continuing to search for the gunman. Anyone with information about the incident should call the Seattle police tip line at (206) 233-5000.

What isn't fake these days

Discovery Channel Promises To Stop Lying To Us

January 9, 2015 | by Justine Alford

It's fair to say that the Discovery Channel is not what it used to be. What was once an enthralling educational program that left you itching to learn more has disappointedly begun indulging the masses with sensationalist garbage and lies that have understandably tainted its reputation. But thankfully, we can now wave goodbye to "documentaries" that make science lovers want to tear their hair out as there's a new president on the scene, and it seems he's got some sense.

The channel's new chief, Rich Ross, was elected as president in late October, but only officially joined the company this month. Yesterday, at the Winter TV press tour, he promised to stop broadcasting fake stuff, or "mockumentaries".

"It's not whether I'm a fan of it," he said, speaking about said mockumentaries, which we shall ignore. "I don't think it's right for Discovery Channel, and think it's something that has run its course. They've done very well... but I don't think it's something that's right for us." And we're glad to hear it.

While producing fake documentaries might seem harmless and amusing at first glance, such as convincing the credulous that mermaids actually exist, some of these are in fact damaging, and therefore not a laughing matter. For example, during shark week last year, rather than focusing on celebrating and admiring these wonderful animals, the channel decided to help perpetuate the idea that sharks are savage, cold-blooded killers.

They recycled an old (fake) story about a Megalodon (a giant, prehistoric shark that is now extinct) and convinced people that a 35-foot shark with an "insatiable appetite for human blood" had been terrorizing a coast off South Africa. Despite the fact that they included a small disclaimer, and the program also featured actors and doctored footage, many became convinced that this extinct animal still exists, something that has been frustratingly difficult to rectify.

Another stunt that received a bit of a slamming, to say the least, was their recent specialEaten Alive, which promised to show viewers naturist Paul Rosolie being gobbled up by an anaconda. Why, you ask? Well, apparently, Rosolie wanted to draw attention to deforestationthat is threatening the snakes he cares so deeply about. Bit of a weird way to get the message across, though. And of course, understandably, Rosolie decided to bail out of this ridiculous stunt, which ticked a few people off.

When Ross was asked for his opinion about the documentary, he said: "It was the right intention with a packaging that was misleading. You don't have to be so sensational. In his mind he thought [being eaten by the snake] was actually possible. But the fever of that story got out of control." Much to our relief, he then added: "I don't believe you'll be seeing a person being eaten by a snake in my time [at the channel]."

I hope everyone is enjoying the cheaper gasoline.
I don't think it will last. The major oil companies have entered into long term contracts with tanker ships to park off the coast as storage vessels. Long term contracts with shippers is very unusual. But if the oil is not delivered and sold the price is sure to go up. Think about it.

Øb☭ma Hawaii vacation is over, now it's time for taxpayers to pay massive tab

HONOLULU – President Barack Øb☭ma  and his family just spent their Christmas and New Year's holidays in Kailua. Now it's time for taxpayers to pick up the tab.

While the Obamas and friends who accompany them pay for their own private vacation home rentals on or near Kailua Beach, taxpayers foot a multimillion dollar tab for everything from a stand-by ambulance to the fuel for Air Force One.

Local taxpayers pick up the bill for Honolulu Police Department escorts who guard Obama, first lady Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha around the clock. Figures just released by HPD spokeswoman Michelle Yu show HPD spent $277,000 on overtime costs this year during the president's 16-day vacation. That's $16,000 less than in 2013, but $60,000 more than in 2012.

The Emergency Management Services department also dispatches an ambulance to be on call for the president, which annually costs the city about $15,890.

The U.S. Secret Service doesn't disclose information about the expense for its agents to travel to and stay in Hawaii or guard the first family.

Dozens of Secret Service agents were spotted at Ala Moana Hotel checking in the day before Obama arrived. A spokeswoman for the hotel said she couldn't release details on the number of agents who stayed there, but hotel staff told Watchdog the government rate would be about $200 a night, including taxes.

Secret Service agents, Navy SEALs and Coast Guard officials also rent private homes along the canal near the president in Kailua at a cost of $250 per room per night, according to several residents renting their homes.

The most pricey charge to taxpayers is the flight to Oahu from Washington, D.C.

Records obtained by Washington, D.C.-based Judicial Watch said "the flights to and from Honolulu for the December 2013-January 2014 Christmas vacation totaled 36.9 hours at $210,877 an hour, which comes to a flight expense alone of $7,781,361.30."

That was an increase of $3.7 million in flight expenses Judicial Watch reported the Obamas incurred for their 2012 Honolulu Christmas vacation.

No estimates for 2014's travel have been released by the administration.

The cost for USAF C-17 cargo aircraft that transports presidential limos, helicopters and other support equipment to Hawaii has never been disclosed, but the round-trip flight time between Andrews Air Force Base and Hawaii is 21.5 hours, with estimated operating cost of $12,000 per hour, according to an U.S. Government Accountability Office report.

The U.S. Marine Corps provides a presidential helicopter, along with pilots and support crews for the test flights, which travel on another C-17 flight. That totals $258,000, not including costs for the four-to-six-member crew's per diem and hotel.

The Obamas rented the same five-bedroom oceanfront villa on Kailuana Place they've secured for the past four years. Sūmit Capital LLC, a New York investment firm headed by Soumyo Sarkar and his wife Chinyu Sarkar, owns the multimillion-dollar property.

Security upgrades are made to the home, with bulletproof glass, additional phone lines and other detection and defense systems installed.

Since the home sits on the popular Kailua Beach, the U.S. Coast Guard stations a sea vessel nearby, while its officials use personal watercraft and smaller boats to patrol the ocean and canal surrounding the home.

The administration also rents cars for staff and security, and pays additional travel costs for Secret Service and White House staff traveling ahead of the president.

None of those costs have ever been released to the public.

Top Military Officer Says Gitmo Creates 'Psychological Scar'

A GUARD OPENS THE GATE AT THE ENTRANCE TO CAMP VI, A PRISON USED
TO HOUSE DETAINEES AT THE U.S. NAVAL BASE AT GUANTANAMO BAY IN CUBA

(General Patton is spinning in his grave.  General Dempsey also supported cuts to military pay and earned benefits.  We can re-open Alcatraz.  The fine citizens of San Francisco would rejoice in hearing the call to prayers five times a day.  San Francisco residents could provide a place for the relatives of the terrorist to stay while they visited their family members in Alcatraz...)

Count the Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman among those who believe it's in the national interest to close the Guantanamo Bay detention center.

Gen. Martin Dempsey says the facility at the U.S. Navy base in Cuba "does create a psychological scar on our national values. Whether it should or not, it does."

The U.S. has transferred of a number of detainees recently as President Barack Obama tries to make progress toward his goal of closing Guantanamo.

The prison population now is 127.

Dempsey says there still are "dozens" who must be held.

He tells "Fox News Sunday" that's a policy decision for elected officials – what to do if these detainees shouldn't be released and Congress doesn't allow them to be brought to the United States.

(This from the liberal New York Daily News.  Other liberals have been similarly critical of Obama and his regime being absent from the march.  What's wrong, Obuma?  Afraid some Islamic terrorist would pop you?  No big loss...)

American Islamist: Attack In U.S. Killing Women And Children Wouldn't Be Terrorism

Video:

(All is fair in jihad... he has his post-modern, upside down logic talking points memorized.  If the jihadi thing doesn't work out for him, he could easily be a politician.  And BTW, if CBS can find an American jihadi in Syria, why can't the CIA or Special Forces?)

France's terror attacks have brought on the fear that radical sleeper cells have been awaken throughout the world. There is also a disturbing trend among young Islamic men. It is estimated that 3,000 Westerner men have gone to Syria and Iraq to join the jihad.

Clarissa Ward of CBS's Face the Nation travelled to Syria and met a young American jihadist from the midwest.  She asked him if he would support a terrorist attack in America, regardless if it killed innocent American women and children.

"I wouldn't consider it a terrorist attack. What I consider terrorism is tomahawk bombs being shot and killing innocent people," he said.

ISIS has reached out and told Muslims to use what ever they have that their disposal to go out and kill. This threat could make attacks, like those in France, more common.

More Than 50 World Leaders March Against Terrorism... Except Øb☭ma

(Here's a shot of many of the world leaders at the march.  As we reported earlier, President Øb☭ma sent Eric Holder who couldn't be bothered to show up at the march...)

And Emperor Øb☭ma himself??

The POS was too busy to stand against radical Islam, or to even call it that...
