It's amazing to me how many people think that voting to have the government give poor people money is compassion.

One thing i do believe in is to educate and make available the tools to succeed.  IF it cost us as taxpayers a little money, to provide tools, education, then it is a wise use of money.  No its not a constitutional part of Government, but it is a smart use of money.  we hear all kinds of crap from administration about investing in our future.  THe only investment in our future that will work as it has time and time again proven to do is to give those that are serious about succeeding the opportunity and means to educate themselves and the tools in which to do the job.

I personally know that in doing so, you not only get back the investment dollars in future tax  earnings, and those dollars used are always paid back by the successful people.

Is it constitutional, probably not.  Though i believe that our forefathers themselves considered education and preparation  to be the tool that grows this nation. So i really can't believe that Jefferson, madison, franklin all those folks would be against the idea behind Pell grants.  Now as for the government being in the student loan business. That i totally disagree with. It is nothing but a method to enslave those students to the government for life!
Curb your politician.  We have leash laws you know.
