WICHITA MAN REPORTS THEFT .....OF MARIJUANA


A Wichita man called 911 to report he was the victim of an armed robbery.

The theft?

A pound of marijuana worth about $1,100 that he had been trying to sell at his home.

The victim told police Thursday that a buyer had pulled out a sawed -off shotgun and stole the drugs.

Police brought in  a drug sniffing dog to the house and located more marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The victim was booked into Sedgwick County jail on several charges, including possession with intent to sell drug.

The thief has not been found.

We had something like that happen to us once.  When Dee Clarkson was still alive we did a search warrant on a house in Elk Falls.  The person had the plants hanging in the attic, upside down, drying.  We took all those plants.  A sawed off rifle with a pistol grip that the person had added to it was also taken besides the drug paraphernalia.  The person was not home.  The person called Undersheriff Dee Clarkson and told Clarkson that someone had stolen the marijuana.  The person then said, "No, the cops stole my drugs."  Oh My Gosh.   Did the person get a warrant and get to go to jail?  Yes, siree.
