Carol E. Beiter, 79, of Coffeyville, Kansas, died Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Medicalodge Care Center, Coffeyville, Kansas.  She was born January 29, 1933 in Liberty, Kansas to Carl and Mary (Krejie) Thompson.

She grew up in the Independence, Kansas area and attended schools in Independence.  On February 12, 1950 in Independence, Kansas, Carol married Bill McClenning, and the couple later divorced.  Carol then married Willie Beiter in June of 1959 in Caney, Kansas, and he preceded her in death.  Carol worked as a home health caregiver for the Elk County SRS.  She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.  

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Alaine Clawson of Peru, Kansas and Mary Elizabeth Vestal of Longton, Kansas; one brother, Harold Thompson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one sister, Katie Ackerman of Arkansas City, Kansas; and 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Graveside Celebration of Life services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Liberty Cemetery, Liberty, Kansas with the Reverend Robin Haines of the Assembly of God Church, Howard, Kansas, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel of Independence, Kansas.
