Virginia Lea Huntington, 81, of Longton, Kansas, passed away Monday evening, June 18, 2012 at the Cherryvale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cherryvale, Kansas.  She was born March 10, 1931 at Moline, Kansas to Melvin A. "Jack" and Ivah Aline (McGuire) Brace.

She attended schools in the Star neighborhood and graduated from Moline High School and Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas.  She taught Home Economics and English for 38 years in the Goddard, Salina, and Elk County school districts.  She boarded a plane with her wedding dress in a box and married Gerald L. Virginia attended the Moline United Methodist Church, was a member of Alpha Tau Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher's Sorority, Friends of Elk Falls, Elk County Historical Society, and was Curator of the Prairie Gem Schoolhouse in Elk Falls, Kansas.

To those who knew and loved her, her loss is irreparable.  Her sole aim in life was not for herself, but for others.  Her husband, children, and grandchildren were the joys of her life.  We who remain know she has been called home by Him, and she is where peace, rest, and good health prevail forever.
