Robert E. "Bob" Kinder, 77, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012 in Topeka, Kansas.  He was born October 26, 1934 in Moline, Kansas, the son of George and Elizabeth (Beechner) Kinder.

Bob graduated from Moline High School in 1952.  He was employed by the State of Kansas for over 40 years, retiring in 1993.  He was a member of the Kaw Valley Woodcarvers Association.

Bob married Flossie R. Kuntz on December 16, 1956 in Udall, Kansas.  She died August 29, 2008.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Sam, and a brother, Bill Kinder.

Survivors include children, Brenda Davis of Douglass, Kansas, Steven E. Kinder and Joyce Dutton of Concordia, Kansas, and Robert R. Kinder and wife, Kelley of Lawrence, Kansas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Kinder and wife, Ann of Emporia, Kansas; special friend, Joyce Royer of Valley Falls, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th, Topeka, Kansas 66604.  Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Moline Cemetery in Moline, Kansas.  Bob will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012, and visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  The family suggests expressions of sympathy  be in the form of memorials to the Kaw Valley Woodcarvers Association or the American Diabetes Association.  To leave a special message for the family online, visit www.PenwellGabelTopeka.com.
