Leland L. Jacot, 80, of Happy Jack, Arizona, passed away on May 22, 2012 peacefully surrounded by his family.  He was born November 26, 1931, the second son of Floyd A. and Clara V. Jacot.

Leland was raised on the family farm near Chautauqua County, Kanss and graduated from Moline High School in Moline, Kansas in 1949.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955.  He was working on the Kansas Turnpike when he met his wife of 58 years, Mary A. Francoeur.  They were marrried on December 30, 1955 in Arkansas City, Kansas.  They had four children, twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.  He has operated Jacot Operating for the last 31 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Jacot of Happy Jack, Arizona; daughters, Debra M. and husband, Mike Murphy of Chandler, Arizona and Pam L. and husband, Brad Zimmerman of Eureka, Kansas; sons, Leland J. (Jack) Jacot and Jerome A. (Jerry) Jacot of Happy Jack, Arizona; grandchildren, Blake and wife, Samantha Zimmerman, Ryan M. Zimmerman, and Shay A Zimmerman of Eureka, Kansas, Alyssa Burt, Laci Burt, and Matthew Jacot of Winslow, Arizona, Laci Burt and Matthew Jacot of Winslow, Arizona, Tawno and wife, Andrea Worthington and Jessica A. Jacot of Prescott, Arizona, Tiffany A. Jacot of Happy Jack, Arizona, and Justin and Tieler Schutze of Winslow, Arizona; great-grandchidlren, Jessie Barnes of Flagstaff, Arizona, Brock and Avery Zimmmerman of Eureka, Kansas, and Xavier M. Moora and Aiden R. Lee of Winslow, Arizona; brother, Paul and wife, Eva Jacot of Moline, Kansas; sisters, Marjorie and husband, Fern Hughes of Collinsville, Oklahoma and Marilyn and husband, Wayne Powers of Derby, Kansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Leland was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Clara Jacot; brother, Marion Jacot; and grandson, Robert Michael Barnes.

Memorial services for Leland L. Jacot were held Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Blue Ridge Community Church in Arizona.  A Kansas memoriial will be held on June 17, 2012 in Eureka, Kansas.  Memorials may be given to the Moline Hiigh School Alumni Scholarship Fund.  Condolences can be sent to the family at www.greersmortuary.com.
