while i agree that behavior is not a disease, And that there is a lot of the ADHD diagnosis that is made as a behavior control method, I do not agree that it is a fake disorder.  I use disorder as it is not a disease per se.

It is however a problem in a true ADHD'r .  Mostly with the ability to focus, organize, thinking.  As a ADHD'r, i was undiagnosed for 35 years and until that diagnosis, it affected everything. Note i said affected, not controlled.  I controlled it through adaptation.  But unless you have the problem you can't understand it.  And i'll tell ya the difference in the ability to think is like night and day.    Untreated its like static. All the thoughts you have are all jumbled up like trying to tune in to one radiostation and 5 keep bleeding through and your trying to keep track of all 5 stations topics at one time.   ITs wierd.

At any rate, When i did start getting medication of which i take dexidrine, I could focus and zoom in on the thoughts most important.  It is funny people say its not a physical thing but it really is. They claim its mental.  What a crock.  The dexidrine acts the exact opposite on me. It puts me to sleep.  Coffee will put me to sleep.  I couldn't be a speed freak, it would put me to sleep lol.

What i believe is this, they do not know.  They have no idea what or where it comes from or even really how to deal with it.  I also believe that they have done a good job of using a very real disorder to control most of society today.

I today am not taking meds for it as i can't for other health reasons.  My world didn't fall apart but it did get harder to cope.   I Suspect that ADHD is a precursor to Alzheimers personally.
Curb your politician.  We have leash laws you know.

That is the best description of ADHD I have ever heard!! Both of my boys have ADHD, and one has Tourette Syndrome as well. Their father (my ex) is undiagnosed, among other things.  ;) While I don't have it myself, I can appreciate your struggles.

Why do they call it Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder when you can pay attention to EVERYTHING? I don't think that is a deficit.....
