Louisa Burden was born May 5, 1828 in Marion county, Ohio and in 1853 was married to Mr. George S. Flowers.  To this union were born eight children, the husband and six of these children passed away before the wife and mother.  A son and daughter were with her at the time of her death which occurred Friday evening January 13, at 8 p.m.  She united with the M. E. church many years ago and was very faithful in performance of what she believed to be her duty.  She was taken seriously ill on Sunday morning and grew rapidly worse and the end soon came, the end to a life of care and suffering and yet a life full of blessing.  The funeral was conducted by Rev. J. A. Pratt, pastor of Elk Falls M. E. church and burial followed in Elk Falls cemetery there to await the resurrection at the last day.
