Lela M. Smith died on March 15, 2012 in Wichita, Kansas.  She was born August 12, 1925 in Fall River, Kansas to John and Lela F. Book.

She married Frankie Smith on August 13, 1943.  She enjoyed embroidery, knitting, and fishing.

Lela is survived by her son, Frankie Leon Smith; daughters, Margaret Elaine Griffith and Linda Fay Hendrix; sister, Nadine Jones; and grandchildren, Scott and Christopher Smith.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 4408 W. Central, Wichita, Kansas.  Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Severy, Kansas cemetery.
