Delta "Glodene" Sanders, 89, of Sedan, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Sedan City Hospital.  She was born May 17, 1922 in the Lowe community  west of Sedan to Thomas William Banning and Lettie Blanche (Sanborn) Banning.

She was raised in the Lowe commmunity where she attended school until the 8th grade at the Lowe School.  On February 3, 1942, she married Roy D. Sanders in Sedan, Kansas.  To this union, three children were born.  They lived in Sedan, and Glodene worked as a nurse's aide for 42 years at the Sedan City Hospital.

Glodene is survived by one daughter, Sandra Sue Dilley and husband, Don of rural Sedan, Kansas; one son, Norman Sanders and wife, Pat of Sedan, Kansas; two sisters, Beulah Petty of Dexter, Kansas and Treva Gentry of Sedan, Kansas; one brother, Wesley Banning of Howard, Kansas; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband on June 3, 1979; her son, Leroy Sanders; her parents; and four sisters, Eleanor Banning, Thelma Sanders, Neva Jean Sanders, and Lois Petty. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sedan, Kansas with Pastor John Warring of the First Christian Church officiating.  The family has suggested memorials to the Pleasant Valley Manor, and those remembrances may be left in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
