Merle Feil's funeral will be on Tuesday morning, 1-10-12, at 10 A.M., at Cochran Mortuary, 1411 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS.  Ph # 316-262-4422.

Merle Dean Feil died at his home in Wichita, Kansas on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the age of 82.  He was born February 20, 1929 at Delft, Minnesota, the son of Jacob and Sarah (Hiebert) Feil.

Following his high school graduation, Merle entered the United States Navy to serve his country.  He later came to Wichita, Kansas where he and his brother founded and co-owned Wichita Key, Lock, and Safe.  He was a member of Hope Lodge #155 A.F. & A.M. in Howard, Kansas, Wichita Consistory and Scottish Rite Bodies, Midian Shrine and Wichita Court 76 - Royal Order of Jesters.  Merle was also a rancher and enjoyed spending time at his ranch near Howard, Kansas.

He is survived by his wife, Harriett; son, Michael; steps-son, Jim Ducey; step-daughter, Cindy Wacker; one step-grandson; and two sisters, Barbara Becker and Donna Mae Sparks.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenneth and Donald.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Cochran Mortuary, 1411 N. Broadway, Wichita, Kansas.  Interment will follow in the Kechi Township Cemetery, Kechi, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Merle's name with the Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy, 130 N. Topeka, Wichita, Kansas 67202.
