"Papillion" is butterfly. They are a toy spaniel and have butterfly-like fluffy breezy ears. I always wanted one,or a King Charles Spaniel. But our hearts always settled on rescued dogs.

This chart is based on tooth and bone growth, sexual maturity and other factors related to maturity.  It is not exact but is a good comparison.  Larger breeds of dogs have a shorter life span than smaller dogs, and a small dog may mature more quickly in the first few years than a large dog would.

'Vick Dog' Holidays: Little Red's first Christmas in a Home

During this week of the Winter Solstice, Hanukkah and Christmas, I'll be bringing you tidings of great joy about three little dogs delivered from pain and darkness by the light of love.

Here is Little's Christmas poem about overcoming her fear of the lights.

Little's First Christmas

"I don't get the lights and I don't get the tree.
I look at the mess and it's frightening to me.
I wonder what happened to my very safe place.
Now it feels like a nightmare from which I must race.
But my Mom gives me treats and makes it alright.
I forget about all of the those bright scary lights.
I'm curled in my bed with my blanket and toys and my Mom sits beside me and pets my soft head.
The tree seems OK and I guess I love lights.
'Cause my Mom keeps me safe through the long winter nights.
I'm just a small pit bull who had a bad start
but now I have love in a home with a heart.
So Merry Christmas to those who have helped me survive.
My greatest joy is my home and in being alive."

Oh i love the pits.  They are some of the sweetest dogs on this earth.  THey are all about play and they do play hard. I mean there is only two speeds in a pit.  comatose and Full throttle!  

Great family dog too!  protective of everyone in the house!  

You know i personally have no use for michael vick, or those who fight them.  I think he got off light.
