Carter--Spease Wedding

Miss Virginia Leona Spease, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. Spease, became the bride of Mr. Fred C. Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Carter of Longton, Kansas, Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. in the Methodist church with Rev. O.W. Dewey officiating.

The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Beu of Grenola, Kansas.  Other guests were Mrs. Wilma Glazier, Mountain Grove, Missori, Miss Mabel Spease, Howard, Kansas; Mrs. Ruth Spease, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. O.T. Carter and Dr. and Mrs. J. L. Dunshee.

The alter was beautifully decorated with baskets of flowers.  The bride was gowned in navy blue crepe and ecru lace, with accessories to match, and carried an arm bouquet of sunburst roses and gladiolas tied with a pink tulle bow.   The groom was attired in the conventional black and white.

After the ceremony an informal reception was held at the home of the brides parents, for relatives and attendants.

Immediately afterward the happy pair left for a short honeymoon trip in the Ozarks.  They will be at home in Independence, Kansas after July 8th.

Mrs. Carter is a young lady of splendid character and has been a highly successful school teacher for several years.  She is a person of particular charm and graciousness greatly beloved by her pupils and their parents.  Mr. Carter is a young man of sterling qualities and has a position with the Kansas Gas and Electric Co., in Independence, Kansas.  The couple has a wide circle of friends, who wish them much happiness in their wedded life.  --Moline Advance.
