David Lee Morris, age 82, of Fredonia, Kansas, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Fredonia Regional Hospital.  David was born on June 26, 1929 in Piedmont, Kansas, the son of Edward and Grace (Larcom) Morris.

On March 27, 1948, David married Winifred E. Bradley in Wichita, Kansas.  To this union, three children were born.  David and Winifred were married for 63 years.  His wife, Winifred, survives at the home.

David worked at the General Portland/Lafarge Cement Plant in Fredonia for over 43 years until he retired in 1992.  He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Fredonia.  In his spare time, David enjoyed fishing, wood carving, and most of all he enjoyed being with his family.   He was an avid Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Survivors, including his wife, Winifred, include two daughters, Regina Murrell of Mena, Arkansas and Gayle Robinson of Fredonia, Kansas; one son, Brad Morris of Independence, Kansas; a brother, Everett Morris of Fredonia, Kansas, two sisters, Florence Bergen and Velda White, both of Fredonia, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.  David was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.

David had requested cremation.  A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 18, 2011 art 2:00 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home, 420 S. 7th Street, Fredonia, Kansas with Pastor Jeff Jorgenson officiating.  The family will visit with friends at the funeral home following the service.  Memorials have been suggested to the Fredonia Regional Hospital Foundation and may be left with the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, P.O.
