Happy Thanksgiving To All

Twas the night of thanksgiving,
I just couldn't sleep,
I tried counting  backwards,
I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned,
the dark meat and white.
But I fought the temptation
with all of my might,

Tossing and turning
with anticipation.
The thought of a snack
became infatuation.

So, I raced to the kitchen,
flung open the door
and gazed at the fridge,
full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey
and buttered potatoes,
pickles and  carrots,
beans and  tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling
so plump and so round,
'til all of a sudden,
I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling,
floating into the sky
with a mouthful of pudding
and a handful of pie.

But, I managed to yell
as I soared past the trees..
Happy eating to all -
pass the cranberries, please.

May your stuffing be tasty,
may your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes 'n gravy
have nary a lump,

May your yams be delicious
may your pies take the prize,
may your Thanksgiving dinner
stay off of your thighs.

May your thanksgiving be blessed

I'm truly thankful I don't have to spend hours in the kitchen preparing a meal that takes 30 minutes to eat and then spend the rest of the day cleaning up the kitchen mess!

On a more serious note, I'm grateful every day for the many blessings in my life, and wish each of you a happy and peaceful day of thanks-giving. May we all recognize each and every day the abundance and love we have.

On that note . . .

A reminder that everyone is invited to the West Elk High School on Thanksgiving  to share in some good food. The community-wide (area- / county- wide) meal is served at noon. Come join us.

And on that note... Happy Thanksgiving to all and to all a good night.

It's been a rotten day.  I've had way too many of those lately.  Howemsoever, my photo that I fussed over today, the one that didn't look like spit on e-mails, don't look too shabby on here, at least in the preview.  Actually, it might be a tad too big on here.

That is beautiful.  Thank you for sharing.

Let me take this opportunity to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving.
May all your turkeys be of the feathered species and cooked.

Wilma

Better yet, may all you turkeys be sober.
