                                        William M. Morgan Dies At Santa Fe Hospital

William M. Morgan, 54, of 414 Harter, a Santa Fe employee died Saturday at 10:45 a.m. at the Santa Fe Hospital in Topeka.  He had been in poor health for a year.  He was truck supervisor for the Santa Fe between Winfield and Independence.  Morgan retired from work when he entered the hospital last Sept. 3.

He was a member of Holy Name Catholic church from which place funeral rites will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m.  Father Thomas C. Glenn will officiate and interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Recitation of the rosary will be Tuesday at 7:30 at the Swisher Mortuary.

Morgan was born at Howard Dec. 18, 1898, and came from Howard to Winfield 11 years ago.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth C.; and four children, Mrs. F. A. McKulsky of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs Raymond Groene of Rock, David K. Morgan, in the navy stationed at San Diego, Calif., and J. W. Morgan of the home; his mother, Mrs. Anna Morgan of Howard; four grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Denton of Howard, Mrs. Florence Andrews of Sonoma, Calif., Mrs. Joseph Karbach of Arlington, Texas, Mrs. Mabel Timmons of Coldwater, and Elias Morgan of Howard.

William is the grandson of an Elk County early pioneer, William Harrison Morgan.  His brother, Elias, and sister, Gladys Denton were very well known people around Howard.
