Thelma Elizabeth Weyrauch Furrow passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2003 at the Lakepoint Nursing and Rehabililtation Center in El Dorado, Kansas.  She was 96 years of age and a former resident of Severy, Kansas.  Thelma was born on July 2, 1907 at Buxton, Kansas to Jess William and Kittie Ann (Bucher) Tice.  She attended school and grew to womanhood in the Elk County area.

On September 19, 1926, she married George Weyrauch at Moline, Kansas and they made their home on a farm south of Howard.  Mr. Weyrauch preceded her in death on December 6, 1935.  On May 8, 1938, she married Lon Forest Furrow at Howard, Kansas.  Thelma made a home for her family in the Howard and Piedmont area until moving to Severy in 1952.  Mr. Furrow preceded her in death on March 29, 1982.  She remained a resident of Severy for many years and moved to the Lakepoint Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in El Dorado in 1999.

She is a former member of Columbia Chapter #142 Order of the Eastern Star in Howard and Rebekah Lodge in Severy.  Thelma was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Carter-Rader Post #149 at Howard and is a member of St. John's Catholic Church in El Dorado.

She is survived by her sons, James Weyrauch of Haysville, George Weyrauch of Rosalia and Pat Weyrauch of Emporia; her daughters, Mary Klein of Salina and Elizabeth Kling of Lenexa; 21 grandchidlren, 2 step-grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 6 step-great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren and 8 step-great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husbands; her stepson, Emery Furrow; her brothers, Frank and Howard Tice; her sisters, Audrey Mayne, Abbie Phillips, Dorothy Fischer and Marjorie Gibbon; three grandchildren, one great grandchild and two great great grandchildren.

The rosary service will be held at 9:30 a.m. and the funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2003, at St. John's Catholic Church in El Dorado with Father Mike Nolan officiating.  The casket bearers will be Janet Harrington, Fred Klein, David Kling, Delven Kling, Clinton Weyrauch and Doug Weyrauch.  The honorary casket bearers will be Don Klein, Robert Klein and Dennis Weyrauch.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, at South lawn Cemetery in Severy with Rev. Patrick LeRoy Weyrauch officiating.  Memorials have been established with Hospice Care of Kansas and the American Legion Auxiliary of Carter-RAder Post #149 at Howard.  Contributions may be left with the funeral home.  The funeral arrangements are being made with the Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard, Kansas.
