Winter time is coming and this is just the drink to warm up your bones.
Whether you add alcohol or not to this recipe..it is good.
It's a great one for Christmas or New Years.
Add a big  bowl of popcorn and your robe and slippers and it makes a cozy way to spend a cold winter night.
Of course...Sean Connery would be my first choice to spend a cozy night with.. but this probably will have to do.( LOL)


Wassel

1/2 gal apple cider ( 4 cups)
2 Tbsp. red hot candies
Spices (tied in cheesecloth) : 3 cinnamon sticks, 2 tsp whole cloves, 2 tsp allspice
1 thinly  sliced apple & 1 sliced orange
Bring cider and spice packet to a boil and simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Add...
2 cups orange juice
4 cups cranberry juice

(optional...add Hot Damn Schnapps  or choice of  Rum to taste)

Pour it into a crock pot, put lid on and let simmer for ever how long.
Dip out and Serve Hot.

The Wassel sounds great and I'd come over and drink it.  I wouldn't sing though, I promise.  And you can ask my boys if you don't think that's a GOOD THING!

Derek made some last night.
Of course the reason was...It is Deer Season and also it is turning out to be COLD!
I will tell you this.. after you drink a cup of his brew, you will be praying that your mouth will even work to be able to sing. LOL
Wow... potent stuff.

I think maybe if I make some, I will "lighten up" the Hot Damn schnapps"... so when you drink it, you will say "Oh Darn that is good.....
Instead of hollering "HOT DAMN!"  that is some stuff!
