The Illusionist Played................
in the breaking down he wandered through
the many illusions the illusionist played
and shaped into acceptable shapes and
the forms illusions take to be image realities
projecting realities into their image of illusions

in the cracks in the cracks in the mirror
reflecting shadows always on the hunt
fear chasing looking for something wrong
dimensions where if something isn't wrong
something not wrong is something not right

in a refractioning everything bleeds into greed
fear and pains self loathing can't get enough
wearing disguises as they fill up on life times
feeding beauty of life to excessive consumption
until the asylum doesn't recognize its an asylum

while in their respectability of their demented
accusers hide their hiddens in their accusations
personal demons casting themselves onto others
like a virus spreading through thinking sytems
diminishing positive thought into negative beliefs

pandemics unleashed infecting perceptions
distorting consciousness into murky dark clouds
into a digesting of life into daily armageddons
shapeshifting living everyday into dying everyday
in the mad race of the normal pursuing happiness

differences of opinion morph into holy righteousness
programmed into deceptions of only good and evil
as if thats all there is with no room for any middle
insecure becomes the chameleon rationalizing itself
in its compulsive need to feel superior to its self image

blinded by judgement judging judgers judging the judged
as fear dominates the conscious and sub-conscious mind
self rationalizations become addicted to self justifications
mutating fears into hydras to deeper imprint their imprints

MrsC:
Considering the source of the Author:  a well written/orator, an activist; a victim of loss; a Native American with roots deep....and an Identifier of the FBI,
added to the topic of "The Illusionist"

makes me think that this is a "he said, she said" piece.
Reminds me of a thread that went on for several pages...and yet....facts?  Perhaps a few only to fall on deaf ears of

Love the rhetoric, not sure if illusionists solve anything, other then a mind-bending thought with no straight answer.

If this is your favorite author, then I respect that.
I found it interesting, but yet a web of more intrigue as to the message.

So, I guess I didn't get it, if not for only in my reality.

I get it . Unfortunately it seems very familiar. Very good one.

There are so many big words in this that it is going to take me a week to look them all up in the dictionary, but I will get it done, so, I, too, can say something.

I get it, pam.  I'll explain what I think John Trudell was trying to relate.  (I wonder why Diane didn't?)

Anyway, in my analysis of some of his work... which doesn't mean crap btw... I agree with a reviewer who said, "Trudell's spoken word performance doesn't translate well onto the page, but his poetry is well worth reading if you are a fan of his work or a kindred spirit."

This is what I think Trudell meant:   Presidents tend to get upset when they discover that their agenda isn't a carbon copy of the agenda of the voters who put them in office.  Some presidents adjust to reality; others seem willing to resort to almost any means to get what they want.  When the public rejected his early big-government schemes, Slick Willy Clinton simply announced that "the era of big government is over" and went on.  Nixon, on the other hand, decided that if he couldn't accomplish what he wanted with public support, he'd work in the DARK, just as Obuma is doing today.  It is becoming clearer by the day that Obuma and his team are more attracted to the Nixon model.  Maybe it's his Chicago background or the fact that, unlike Slick Willy, the man's a true believer who meant it when he said he'd rather have a "unsuccessful" ...I believe that was the word...one-term presidency than be reelected.

I could go on and on, but this is what I believe Trudell is trying to say... the just of it, anyway.  In a nutshell, he means that Politicians who show complete disdain for the beliefs and attitudes of the voters shouldn't complain when those voters react against them at the polls, which will happen Nov 2012.

That about right, Pam?

Yes Trudell is one of my favorites :) I read him a lot.

His writing is a lot about society in general, which can translate to what you said Warph and what you said Ready :)
