Catwoman

LOL    ;D :o ;D  uh...maybe a TMI moment there...LOL  ;D

Thanks, Jarhead!  You really know how to ruin a guy's day.  All my illusions are now shattered.  Now, I have to try not to think about someones hairy back.  Especially yours!  Besides, I know a Navajo Indian and he assures me that they use a higher quality material to make their rugs.  I think he said skunk hair, but I am not sure.  And, please, allow me to think of Catwoman as a very nice looking, intelligent, wonderful, warm, and with a great personality, type of person.  (Did I cover that okay, Cat?) ;D

Bleah! I pictured several on here with snake skin, not hair. I know for sure one has eight legs. ;D Larry, you described Cat perfectly.

Judy Harder

I agree with Diane.............all (ok, most) women are beautiful.............somewhere!
some hair I don't mind.........depends on how much, how neat and how pretty; I mean handsome ,the guy is.

Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!

That's cold Larry----it's like you plunged a  bayonet into my back !!

Diane, Snakeskin ? You talking to me ? You talking to me ? You must be talking to me because I'm the only one here !!!
Damn , I got to quit watching all them old movies

Only Marines, that's with a capital "M", use bayonets.  Real soldiers shoot 'em before they get that close.-   ;D

I wouldn't do that to you, pal.  We are Bros-in-Arms!   ;D

Larry, the key word here is 'soldier " Marines are never referred to as soldiers, plus how is a Marine to earn that coveted Purple Heart if he doesn't get up close and personal ---and give the corpsman / medic a chance to do something heroic by coming to their aid? :)
Now I got a ton of okra to pickle so I will give you time to "re-load". :)

larryJ

Okay, two cups down and reloaded.

You are absolutely correct in that Marines (spelled with a capital "M") are not soldiers.  They are..............JARHEADS!  Hence, your moniker.  I have also heard a few other choice names for Marines, but this is a family forum.

And, the first thing they teach in Medic School (also spelled with a capital "M") is that you are not to get too close to the front line and take the chance of being a casualty yourself.  This would leave the rest of the squad without medical help.  It is up to the front line troops to pull the wounded back to the Medic for treatment.  Forget about those old movies that show the Medics running up to the front line.  Ain't gonna happen.  If you get wounded and I go help you and I get shot, we both get Purple Hearts and a trip home.  And then they have to go without a Medic until they can find another one.  BTW, the difference between a Purple Heart and a Medal of Honor.............you are, hopefully, able to stand up when they decorate you.

There you go again Larry---hitting below the belt.  :D
I'm sure what you say about Medics and Corpsmen not getting in the position to get WIA or KIA is probably what is taught and makes the most sense but nine out of ten times when the SHTF the first thing hollered is, "Corpsman or corpsman up" and the Doc responded without hesitation---and that was without exception, except for one time that happened in my experience. I have always said if anyone got the shaft when it came to being awarded for bravery, it was the Corpsmen . When they ran ,under fire, to render aid, "they were just doing their job" My hat is off to all "Doc's ".

larryJ

Okay, it's getting past my bedtime, but rattle that old brain of yours and try to remember if there was live fire at the exact instant some trooper yelled "Medic!" (that's what we call them in the Army).  Generally, if someone hollers "Medic", the shooting has stopped or slowed allowing the dude to get up there to help.  If there is still live fire, everybody is going to have their heads and butts buried in the mud, hoping somebody won't be hollering "Medic" for them.

I do agree that Medics and Corpsmen deserve more praise than they get.  The guy that says, "Just doing my job" is a great guy and is being truthful.  But that the way it is/was.  Not only medics, but every other guy out there.............they were all "just doing their job."
