Susan Auldridge was born in Pocahontas county, West Virginia, November 8, 1859, died at her mother's home in Howard, Kansas, July 14, 1910, age 50 years 8 months and 6 days.

With her folks she moved to Iowa in 1862, to Kansas, Montgomery county near Independence in 1871 and later to Howard where she was married to Charles LaBrant May 7, 1884, Rev. Joel A. Barker officiating.  To them was born two children, sons, Harry A. and Geroge A. LaBrant.

She was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church in childhood.  She lived a christian life.  Her devotion to the church and the cause of Christ increased as she advanced in years.

During her last illness for three or four months she suffered a great deal.

By her life which was filled with good works and her testimony of faith, her friends know that she has gone to inherit that rest which remains for the people of God.

She was loved by all who knew her; and leaves her husband, two sons, a mother, two brothers, three sisters and a host of friends to mourn her departure.

At the time of her death she was a member of the Methodist church at Tonkawa, Oklahoma.

"Then dying is no dangeroug thing;
Safe in the Saviour's keeping,
The ransomed soul is gently led
Beyond the reach of weeping."

The funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church Saturday July 16, by Rev. T. A. Nichols, the pastor.
