Regrettably, most people aren't taught this political history because Marxists, progressives and unionists have dominated our public schools and controlled teachers unions since the founding of the National Education Association (1857) and have since worked tirelessly to remove every vestige of God, truth, logic, capitalism, history and the Founding Fathers from the curriculum and replace it with education atheism, leftist propaganda, socialist groupthink, Social Darwinism, moral relativism and, of late, fraudulent national test scores.

They can't teach that....as it would involve sex, scandals, bigotry, religion, and tapping shoes.
That just covers the FBI era with J. Edgar Hoover!

God bless the teachers that actually can think!

I went to school in the 50's and early 60's. We had the Pledge and a bible verse every day. I had the same American history in high school that everybody else had and that included quite a lot about the founding fathers. The more detailed courses were in college then as now. There wasn't the dearth of unverified information that can be twisted and taken out of context and used in ways it was never intended to try to prove a point. The professional bloggers out to sell books on the internet is never ending and the amount of revisionist history is staggering.
There were a great many historically letters and bits of historical information that were tucked away for safe keeping long ago and are still just now coming to light again. It will still be many years before it is all found, read and analyzed.
I just deleted a really nasty rebuttal to that ridiculous article by Ellis Washington. The way he writes, my Sunday School teachers would have counted as Socialists and I really resent that. But there is no point in getting into a lather over it, it's so ridiculous. According to him, Jesus would be a Socialist because he cared about the masses and wanted the poor, old and sick to be cared for.

Thank you, Diane.  That is exactly the opinion I came away with, too.   >:(

Jesus would have nothing to do with socialism.  He is a King and his kingdom is in effect.  No socialism in a kingdom you know. :)
Curb your politician.  We have leash laws you know.

Reciting the Pledge of Allegiance (POA) does not make one an American or Patriotic or a Christian.

Socialists want the government to care for people.  For many years now, people, organizations and churches have been advocating that the Fed's do more for the poor.  (And they call it a "church"?)

Teddy Kennedy was good at helping folks thru the government using other peoples' money instead of his own.
Maybe he thought of himself doing good deeds in that manner of charity.  However, let's call it socialism.

Best line in the whole story was, "[i.e., 'community organizer,' one who incites the mob]"
"Every once in a while I just have a compelling need to shoot my mouth off."

"If you don't have a sense of humor, you probably don't have any sense at all."

"A gun is like a parachute.  If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again."
