Gaylen R. Myers, 64, of Atlanta, Kansas and the owner of Myers Plumbing, was born November 26, 1946, the son or Richard Samuel & Dorothy Evelyn (Sims) Myers.  He grew up at Severy,Kansas, graduating with the class of 1964.  Gaylen's first wife was Diane Wooderson of Severy.  Gaylen passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011.  

His survivors include his wife, Linda; sister, Marcia Allen (Lyle) of Sedgwick, Kansas; sons, Jeff Myers (Tricia) of Arkansas City, Kansas and Nick Myers of Atlanta, Kansas; daughters, Nichole Myers of Winfield, Kansas,  Donna Walton of Mulvane, Kansas, and Collina Myers (Jessie Feugate) of South Haven, Kansas; stepsons, Thad White (Angie) of Augusta, Kansas,  Danny White (Amy) of Douglass, Kansas,  and Shane Courtney (Krystyn) of Atlanta, Kansas; stepdaughters, Tracy Anderson (Bobby) of Winfield, Kansas,  Mandy Shaffer (James) of Wichita, Kansas,  Megan Etter (Bruce) of Atlanta, Kansas, and Shannon Wiley of Leon, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; nieces, Heather Heller, Barbara Taylor; nephew, Kim Allen.  Gaylen was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dorothy Myers.
   
Viewing will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 2:00 – 8:00 at the Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home, 507 S. Maple, in Douglass, Kansas. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Severy Baptist Church, 201 S. Greenwood, in Severy, Kansas.  Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery at Severy.  Memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of Kansas, 1401 Main, Winfield, Kansas or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 914 E. Harry, Suite 706, Wichita, Kansas.
