Mary E. (Hime) Puckett, age 92, of Fredonia, Kansas, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at Fredonia Regional Hospital.  Mary was born on September 23, 1918 in Pleasant Lake, South Dakota, the daughter of William Amos and Nora Lee (DePriest) Hime.

On October 12, 1940, Mary married Byrl Puckett.  Mary and Byrl were married for 45 years until his death of 1985.  Mary was a homemaker.  She enjoyed reading and doing crochet work.  When she was able, Mary attended the United Methodist Church.  As Mary and Byrl never had children, her family was all of her nieces and nephews, which she loved very much.

Mary is survived by several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Byrl;  brother, Norman Hime; and sister, Ruby Adamson.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Fall River, Kansas with Pastor Susan Galvan officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials have been suggested to the Alvarez Children's Fund, which is the children of her niece, Jackie Kay, who was killed in an auto accident.  Contributions may be left with the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 420 S. 20th Street,  P.O.
