Darlene F. (Allison) Atkins of Fall River, Kansas, age 80, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Fredonia, Kansas.  Darlene was born to Elmer and Edith (Rand) Allison on June 11, 1930 n Rockford, Illinois.

On March 27, 1948, Darlene married Fred G. Atkins.  Darlene and Fred were married for 57 years until his death on June 22, 2005.  Darlene was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post 3018 of Fredonia and the Ladies Teamsters Auxiliary.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband,Fred when they were able to go.  She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed making special trips to the casinos.  She enjoyed making ceramics, sewing, and craft items.  Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family and friends.

Darlene is survived by her son, Jerry Atkins and wife, Irene of Carson City, Nevada; daughters, Linda Ogle and husband, Marshall of Fall River, Kansas, and Mary Steckline and husband, Dennis Sober of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  Darlene was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Fred.

Darlene requested cremation.  A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Weakley Cemetery near New Albany, Kansas with Pastor Susan Galvan officiating.  Memorials have been suggested to the V.F.W. Post 3018 Fredonia Bingo Fund and may be left with the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left at www.countrysidefh.com.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, P.O.
