DEATH OF HOWARD PIONEER

Word was received this morning from Mrs. Virginia May Turner at Los Angeles, that her mother, Mrs. Ella V. Strachan passed away in that city, Saturday evening, February 18th.  She had been in steadily failing health for many weeks.

Mrs. Strachan was, we believe, something more then ninety years old, and was a resident of this neighborhood and since about 1872 until she went to Los Angeles a few years ago to live with her daughter,  Mrs. May McDonald Turner.  She was the widow of the late Wm. Strachan who was also a pioneer, also was a sister of the late Mrs. E. K. Longley and Wm. H. and J. R. Hall.  She is survived by one son, John H. McDonald, and one daughter, Mrs. Virginia May Turner.

Mrs. Strachan had many friends among our earlier residents and was highly respected by all who knew her.

We are sorry we have no data at hand for a suitable obituary.

Cross references:  Her siblings were Carrie (Hall) Longley and J. R. Hall. Carrie's obit is posted and J. R. Hall's biography is on the genealogy board.
