Does this Illustriana Kansas cover other counties in Kansas.  If so, would you be willing to look up certain persons in other counties?

Yes, there are biographies of people that lived throughout the State of Kansas.  The book Illustriana Kansas may be found in various libraries within the state.  (I checked the Interlibrary loan catalog that is online).  But I have my doubts if libraries will loan the book out, as it is considered as reference material and must be looked at within the library.  What I enjoyed about this particular book was that it has an index!

Another set of  biographical books that I have used material from (Cyclopedia) did not index anything, and I had to go thru about 3 volumes, page by page, and extract bios that pertained to Elk County.

Dr. Shaffer Buys Hospital
Dr. C. E. Shaffer has bought back the hospital which he sold in the spring to Drs. Marrs and Brainard and Mrs. Sadie Smethers and Mrs. Susie Leffingwell.  He also bought the practice of the two doctors and they agree to locate elsewhere in the near future.

Dr. Shaffer and family arrived from Newton last Friday and took possession of the hospital August 1.  There are many people in this community who are glad to see the Shaffers return.
