John W. Hall jr. of Goddard, Kansas, 83, lost his battle to cancer on February 6, 2011 with his wife by his side.  John was born in Grenola, Kansas on February 19, 1927 to John and Mabel Hall.

He was a retired Master Sergeant Army Reserves, a title he was very proud of.  He also retired from the United States Post Office andwas a 15 year employee of Gas Service Company.

He is survived by his wife, Coleen, of the home; son, Phillip of Wichiita, Kansas; two granddaughters, Jamie Hall of Wichiita, Kansas and Nicole Hall of Everett, Washington; one great-grandson, Jacob of Everett, Washington; four stepsons, Jim and Greg of Goddard, Kansas, Terry of Seattle, Washington, and Keith of Broomfield, Colorado; several step-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris (Ed) Kirk of Morton, Illinois and Corinne Marcus of East Peoria, Illinois; and a host of friends and other relatives.

A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2011 at Graceway Community Church, 200 S. St. Clair, Wichita, Kansas 67213, with interment following.  Memorials may be made to the church.
