Pledge to be on "World Watch" and pray for persecuted Christians

Imagine yourself in a situation where there is fear waiting to creep in as you read your Bible in a hidden corner of your home. For you know that to hold these precious words in your hands could cost you and your family your very lives through immediate death or years of suffering in a prison camp designed to stamp you out. Yet these words are so precious you are willing to take the risk of owning them.

This may be imaginary for us, yet for North Korean Christians, this is a constant reality. Some of them even willingly take greater risks by sharing these words with others. What would motivate them to do so? In a letter smuggled out of North Korea an underground church leader shares hope, his love for the Lord and gratitude for the help he has received.

"We experience in our everyday lives that God is not only confined as written words in the Bible but He actually works in every single thing we do in our lives and ministry. After receiving your study materials, our believers are full of enthusiasm to work only for the Lord and His kingdom. Your trust, love and faith towards us are the driving force for our love for the Lord. We are expanding our achievements in operating our church organization as well as serving our believers with your kind cooperation. Their lives are in danger everyday and still they follow the Lord. This could have not been possible if it wasn't for your endless effort and love towards our believers."

As you are inspired and challenged with the stories and struggles that persecuted Christians face in the Daily Courage Devotionals you too can be part of God's plan and help bring His Word to those who live in spiritually dark places such as North Korea.

Again, for the ninth year in a row, North Korea holds the number one position on the 2011 Open Doors World Watch List of the top 50 countries where persecution of Christians is most severe. North Korea remains the world's most dangerous places to live as a Christian, but through your prayers and support you can help provide the strength they need to not only survive - but thrive!

For more information visit the 2011 World Watch List website and show your support by taking the pledge to be "On World Watch."
