Bonnie M.

I completely missed the postings regarding your birthday!  How could that happen?

Anyway, I hope your birthday was a good one, and that "Cousin Joe" got to share it with you!

Here's wishing you many more happy birthdays.

I thank y'all.
No Miss Bonnie, I did not spend my B-Day with Farmer Joe, but I will be seeing him more in the near future. Got myself a new metal detector and as soon as I conquer this contraption the first place I'm heading is Farmer Joe's. I just know he has gold buried in his yard. He denies it but maybe he just forgot where he buried it !! When I get done, his yard will look like a gaggle of gophers has taken up residency in his yard.
Fish---you might want to build a bigger vault at the bank. All the gold & silver I will be finding with this detector, I will need a wheel barrow to wheel it into the bank to store it---unless Ft Knox has some extra space

It sounds like you have received  a great treasure-hunting device to occupy your time.  Good luck with the riches, and glad you had a great day!  Happy Birthday!

Probably spend most of my time looking for ol Sarge's hooks and sinkers with the detector. He is such a moron that he is always getting hung up in the trees--behind him or casting clear across the river and either way he breaks his line and loses the hook & sinker.

Ms Bear

I hope you have a lot of fun with it and maybe actually made a big find.  I have always wanted one.

Ms Bear,
After reading the manual and not understanding a single thing it said I was ready to find treasure but after 10 minutes my hands were froze and it started snowing. My first target said silver / foil and that's exactly what it was---a big wad of tin foil 4 inches under the ground. Next target said a "ring" and it was---a ring with the pull tab still attached. Next target said" definitely ' a penny but again it was wrong---it was 5 pennies and a nickel all together right under the grass. The newest coin was 1992 so not really treasure but it is my first cache of coins. The next target said "belt buckle" Now I'm really getting excited because I have visions of a Buffalo Soldiers lost buckle. Dug that puppy up and I'm amazed at how old buckles look just like an old rusty barn door hinge---but what do I know ??
Sitting here, I see patches of bare ground poking thru the melted snow, so off I go looking for that elusive gold nugget. I wonder what ol Sarge is doing because I don't mind doing the detecting but getting awful tired of getting down on my knees to dig the treasures and then having to crawl to a tree to pull my fat arse off the ground. Maybe I should use a shovel with a longer handle !!!

What brand is your metal detector?  Let me know if you find any buried moonshine!

Happy Birthday Jarhead.   Thanks for reminding me that I have always wanted one of those.  Keep us posted on your finds.
