Robert V. "Bob" Shore, 82, of Burden, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 at William Newton Hospital in Winfield, Kansas.  Robert "Bob" Shore was born January 8, 1928 in Riverdale, Kansas to Bert and Dora (Bond) Shore.

He attended school in Riverdale and moved to Burden at the age of 11.  He graduated from Burden High School in 1946.  Following graduation, he began working with his father and brothers at Shore & Sons Construction. 

Bob was united in marriage to Irma L. Stacy on May 22, 1948 in Winfield, Kansas.  The couple made their home in Burden, and he continued working with his family.  He also worked at the McAdams Quarry west of Cedar Vale, which he later managed, and also worked at Western Plains in Weatherford, Oklahoma.  Bob farmed much of his life.  He was a member of the Rural Water District #5 Board and the National Rifle Association.  He loved inventing and building things, flying his own aircraft, hunting, and his dogs.

Mr. Shore is survived by his wife, Irma, of the home; his children, Debra K. Rowe of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Brenda T. Shore of El Dorado, Kansas, and Rob Shore and his wife, Judy of Grenola, Kansas; his five grandchildren, Stacie Hand, Justin Shore, Erin Rowe, Aidan Rowe, and Joey Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Miles Funeral Service, 4001 E. 9th Avenue, in Winfield, Kansas.  Interment will follow at the Burden Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010.  The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. that evening.  Memorials have been established in Bob's name with the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.  Contributions may be made through Miles Funeral Service, P.O.
