Bernice E. Anderson, age 73, a resident of Grenola, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the William Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield, Kansas.  She was born on November 13, 1936 in Granite City, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Christine (Hogan) Lowder.

In 1951, Bernice was united in marriage to Harvey Anderson in Vancouver, Washington.  Bernice was a homemaker.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening, and watching her favorite TV programs.

Bernice is survived by her husband, Harvey Anderson of the home; thee daughters, Cindy Kiel and Dianna Langley, both of Grenola, Kansas and Teresia Anderson of Gresham, Oregon; one son, Glen Anderson of Gresham, Oregon;  three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mike Langley; one brother; and one sister.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Grenola, Kansas with Pastor Robin Haines officiating.  Viewing will be held Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.  Family suggests contributions be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and may be left with the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.
