Donna May (Chamberlain) Brown, age 72, a resident of Howard, Kansas, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Kansas.  She was born on May 30, 1938 at Union Center Township in Elk County Kansas, the daughter of Glenn Harmon and Viola May (Lauffer) Chamberlain.

Donna was a graduate of Severy High School in Severy, Kansas.  On June 5, 1960, Donna was united in marriage to J.D. Brown in Howard, Kansas, and they later divorced.  Donna worked as Deputy District Court Clerk in Elk County and retired on December 31, 2005.  She was very active in 4-H as a young girl.  Donna became a 4-H leader and project leader as her children went through 4-H and continued tonbe active in 4-H with her grandson, Anthony, as a sheep leader.  She loved living on her farm in the Flint Hills.

She is survived by he mother, Viola Chamberlain of Howard, Kansas; one son, Duane Brown of Moore, Montana; three daughters, Dawn Brumley of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Teresa Beitz of Howard, Kansas, and Paula Hensley of Newkirk, Oklahoma; one brother, Dale Chamberlain of Severy, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Joshua Grizzle, Jessica Hensley, and Anthony Beitz.  Donna was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Chamberlain, and grandson, Donnie Glenn Hensley.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2010 at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, Kansas with Rev. Charles Crydeman officiating.  Visitation will be held Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.    In lieu of flowers, family request contributions be made to Flint Hills Boosters 4-H Club or Elk County Ambulance and may be left with the funeral home.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.countrysidefh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Countryside-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Howard, Kansas.
