If there were ever anything worth putting on your refrigerator door to daily remind us of what we have to do come November, this is it...

Subject:  Retribution is less than 5 months away!

Take a look at this and just remember elections in November 2010.

* U..S. House & Senate have voted themselves $4,700 and $5,300 raises.
*They voted to NOT give you Social Security or VA benefits Cost of living raises in 2010 and 2011.
*Your Medicare premiums will go up $285.60 for the 2-years.
*You will not get the 3% COLA: $660/yr.
*Your total 2-yr loss and cost is -$1,600 or -$3,200 for husband and wife.
*Over these same 2-years each Congress person will get $10,000
*Do you feel used?
*Will they have your cost of drugs - doctor fees - local taxes - food, etc., decrease?
*********************NO WAY.

Congress received a raise and has better health and retirement benefits than you or I.

Do Nancy, Harry, Charlie, Barney and the rest of the demagogy trash care about you?

HELL NO!

Why should they care about you?  You never did anything about it in the past.

Where the hell were you in Nov. 2008?

Send the message to these individuals --- "YOU'RE FIRED!"

In 2010 you will have a chance to get rid of the sitting Demagogy Congress: up to 1/3 of the Senate and 100% of the House!

Lets do it RIGHT this time!  Make sure you're still mad in November 2010 and remind their replacements not to screw-up or you'll put the screws to them next election cycle.

It is ok to forward this to your sphere of influence if you are finally tired of the abuse.  Maybe it's time for Amendment 28 to the Constitution:

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ."

These IDIOTS in Washington have brought this upon themselves!  It's time for retribution.  Let's take back America .

If you don't do this... then you're part of the problem of national apathy.

I thought you didn't like socialist programs?  now you're complaining that the government isn't giving you enough money?

Stop playing golf and living off the taxpayer dime and go get a job.

Isn't that the conservative viewpoint these days?

Remember your own advice when you're in your 70's Anmar. I believe that Warph has earned the right not to have to go to work... >:(

it is when you talk about welfare.  Warph paid for his social security.
Curb your politician.  We have leash laws you know.

You know, in a way, Anmar is right (God that really hurt).  So long as Warph is only recieveing what he paid in then fine.  However, if he, like some are getting more than what he paid, that ain't right.  As for not having to work when you reach a certain age, thats not a Right, unless a person has a means of supporting themselves without having to take from others.

Doesn't a retiree have a right to a dividend on the money that he paid in?  Would you invest year in and year out for 30 years, then not expect some kind of return on your investment?

Varmit

Invested??  Tll me, just what exactly is the money for SS invested in and where do those dividends come from?

Any more it's hard to tell because the last administrations, back quite a few years now, have used "fuzzy accounting" to move money around and keep things off the books. Back when SS started and it all made sense, other countries owed US money and when they made their payments to us some of it went into accounts as interest.  There were also quiet arms sales and "surplus" to other countries. Now it seems it's all our own money is being moved around to pay ourselves. I think the Gov't does still get money from Federal land rentals and such, but I'm not really up on that any longer. Perhaps it's time for a bake sale.

First of all, I have been trying really hard to stay the hell out of the politics section, only reading not commenting.

Secondly, Social Security is not an investment program.  It is a "pyramid scheme" designed so that the working class contribute towards the welfare of the retired generation to keep them from living in poverty.

Thirdly, considering my health problems, my own anticipated life span, the amount of money I get from SS, I will never receive anywhere near the amount of money that I paid in starting with my first job at age 14.

And, there are those that say----------SS will be dead or gone by 2028.  In the past, when SS was not looking so good, the amount deducted from the paycheck was increased.  I can remember my early years at the Times, I could pay my "share" of SS by about the end of May.  Then SS got a little under the weather and they kicked the deduction up and I never again was able to get to a point where I had paid my share.  That's alright.  I paid into and now receive.  I am sure that when push comes to shove, your congress will find a way to keep SS going or come up with some other plan to help retirees.

HELP!  I'm talking and I can't shut up!

I came...  I saw...  I had NO idea what was going on...
