Well, it's good to read books no doubt, but I was an instructor in the USAF School of Applied Aerospace Science (sounds important doesn't it) for 4 years. I had several students from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Turkey and Oman. I had one class that consisted of all Iranians. Sarge, sorry for the tone of my post. The viewpoint expressed is largely from the Sunni muslims. You probably came in contact with mostly shiite muslims. There are a few differences in the beliefs . I'm going to post some passages, so if you think all things muslim will make you melt, please avert your eyes.

The following quotes are from Hadith, not Koran. The hadtih is really the more equivalent to the bible than the Koran. The Koran would be like the Gospel of Jesus, if it still existed.

I'm not so sure about the Shiite belief. There are several different Shiite sects and some of them believe in the return of Ali, who was a cousin of Mohammed.

Nope, didn't think so. Anmar says he and I are 2nd cousins...Well that would make him my mothers' first cousin wouldn't it? All of her 1st cousins are either in their 60's on up or are dead so NOPE...NOT related. I don't have to commit suicide now....YAY!
