Wal-Mart vs. The Morons

1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart Every hour of every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target +Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world's largest private employer, and most speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.

8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

To President Obama and all 535 voting members of the Legislature,

It is now official that the majority of you are corrupt morons:

a.. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

b.. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.
c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.

d.. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor" and they only want more.

e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.

f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.

g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM   ??

Folks, keep this circulating. It is very well stated. Maybe it will end up in the e-mails of some of our "duly elected' (they never read anything) and their staff will clue them in on how Americans feel.

:o :'(

Do you know why walmart is so successful?  you may want to look into their business practices before you go around saying that they should be running the country.

Are you serious?  You of all people should be well aware that Walmart is one of the biggest retailers of chinese made products.  The only products that come from the USA is a portion of the food.  Even a lot of the food comes from mexico or south america.  They are also the biggest violator of federal and state employment laws.  They treat their employees like dirt.

I'm proud to say that I have never stepped foot in a Walmart.  I don't know how its ran at the store level.  When I had my business, I dealt with them directly and it was a disaster.  They have no shame, no principals, and no concept of doing the right thing.

Hell, you right wingers already vote for the politicians that help move jobs off shore.  Your party pushed through HUGE tax cuts for companies that shifted their manufacturing overseas.  BOTH parties created tax loopholes that allowed companies to offshore their mailing address to avoid taxes, but a few weeks ago when the democrats tried to close that loophole to pay for the 9/11 healthcare, your party voted to keep the loophole open.  If you want to continue to allow corporations to cheat on their taxes, to keep sending jobs overseas, and to steal from the american people, then I can see how you would want walmart running the country, but then, You could just vote republican instead.  There's not much difference.

Take the wonderful $4 script program.  You jack up the prices on all other drugs except 400.

They bid projects the lowest bidder.  The project has an opening date.  If you don't have your part of the building done by the date you are required to they hire a contractor to finish your work at your expense to get done by your date.  The project could be delayed by weather, bureaucracy, union strikes, manufacturing delays, failed concrete contractors, etc.  but the contract is written to always be in the Bentonville advantage.  I worked at a company with $84,000 worth of extras signed off on by the general manager for the site and they refused to pay until the court forced them to 9 months later after a 2 year trial.

The fact that a store comes into a new market lowers the price until all the competition is dead then jacks the prices, lowers the service, brings in a three year old manager, lowers the standard of living in the town and increases fuel consumption within 50 miles of the store.

They are wonderful.

Well i have to say i don't have a problem with the 4 dollar prescription program, if it wasn't available i wouldn't be able to get my meds.

BTW I saw the same argument about running businesses out of town, and that doesn't hold water.  When they brought the superwalmart to dahlonega ga, thats all we heard about how the locals would go out of business.  Not so.  in fact the local grocery store, competed with walmart and put a hurt to Walmarts grocery business.
Same with other businesses.   Yeah some stores closed.  But you know, the ones that didn't, took a hit at first then their customers came back for the service, or they ventured into an area that walmart didn't service.

I think a lot of towns that lose business's lose them because the businesses won't change or adapt to conditions.  They are used to things being one way and they'll be damned if their going to change how they do business.

Seen it far too many times.

Steve, you need to take a little drive down to Pawhuska, Okla. During the oil boom in the 70s, Walmart came in there and ran out all the locals. When oil busted, Walmart skedaddled and left those folks with no grocery or other shopping. The town is just now beginning to recover from all the chaos.  :P :P

This is the problem with the right wing movement,  they don't understand their own principals.  Look at how a good conservative patriotic man has been tricked into supporting a multinational corporation with a well known reputation for ripping off its suppliers and contractors, for hundreds of thousands of jobs overseas,  for violating state and federal employment laws, and for evading taxes.
