Here is a link to a live feed of a hummingbird nest, with other live camera feeds of other types of birds. Enjoy them.

I think the Hummingbird nest is great but the other birds are interesting.  Don't try this link at night because it is too dark to see very much and the birds are not active except the owls.

I can't find a better thread for this so here it is.  I discovered today why I feed the birds all summer.  Late this evening there were 4 cardinals in my feeder.  Two of them were making baby begging noises and were being fed by one of the others.  The older one was cracking the sunflower seeds and feeding the babies.  Now isn't that worth filling a feeder every day?

We have here is SoCal, a flock of parrots which are not native to this region.  The myth, or story, is that many years ago, a pet store burned in El Monte.  This store specialized in tropical birds such as parrots and canaries.  During the fire many escaped.  There is a wild life park near El Monte with a man made lake and picnic grounds and trees.  I firmly believe many of the parrots made their home there, but have not the motivation to go see.  Anyway, the flock of parrots fly in the morning to another area east of me making all kinds of racket.  And, then return at sunset flying west towards the wild life park.  Now, parrots are not a bird that flies long distances all in one trip.  So they stop on occasion and rest.  Those of us in the neighborhood that have various kinds of fruit trees get to be in the "rest stop" area.  The reason I am writing this today is because about 20 of the brightly colored (green with red heads) are perched on the telephone wires running directly behind my house.  Just because they are making a pit stop doesn't mean they are quiet.  Such a racket!  But they sure are pretty to look at.  ;D

Lucky you Larry! I always enjoy when the flocks of yellow headed blackbirds come through here in migration. Very noisy, and pretty too!

I saw the documentary they did on your parrots a few years ago.

I am sure you enjoy them. I would enjoy seeing them.

You might put them in the catagory of the local pests, like cowbirds, starlings, etc.
But, they are Gods creatures and all deserve a change to eat and do their thing.

Right here out my window I keep a hummingbird feeder and they are starting to eat so fast
I might need to put my spare up. Either the heat is making them come in, or these are the migrants.

Anyway, I enjoy all the critters. Even like watching the 2 legged critters when I am in a crowd. LOL
Never know just what I am going to see. LOL

Today, I want to make a difference.
Here I am Lord, use me!
