I was wondering what you think about this rifle and how hard it will be to get the cartridges it shoots. Could it be used for long range shooting?

hi there, i have a chappal 76 28"bl. 45/60.big beast of a rifle. really well made, smooth action and no problems at all. the ammo is available from buffalo arms but itis pricey. you can reload 45/60 very easlly. its  just a cut down 45/70. my load is 60 grains of geox cartridge b.p. with a 300 grain meister rn fp lead bullet.i put a 1/8" thich grease cookie over a cardboard wad. shoots great, but lets you know its there. good but not terrable kick. as to long range, what do you call long range?i had axtill winchester tang and glob sights installed very accurate out to 200 yards. still working up to longer range.with the cresent buttplate wear a shooting pad. medal to wood fitgreat, fit and finish also great. got mine from western nevada arms. hope this helps. later, gotzguns
