You are all invited to join the Capital City Cowboys for a GAF MINI-MUSTER on Sunday, July 23, 2006 in Topeka, Kansas.  We are a SASS range but will be using some of our more challenging targets (we have a few anyway) and NCOWS rules - 10 second penalties for misses.

Two guns - one rifle and one pistol - gun carts are allowed - 6 stages - bring plenty of ammo - we won't be shooting more than 180 rounds - more exact round count to follow later.

No special registration - just come on out to shoot!  $10.00 shoot fee.  Registration and squad sign up will open at 8:30 am.  Safety meeting at 9:30 am with shooting to follow (by 10:00 am).  We should be finished shooting by about 2:00 pm.

We do NOT have a food vendor available at the range, so pack your lunch.  There are plenty of tables in a shelter to picnic.  Water, Lemonade and some snack treats will be available.

For range directions - http://www.kansascas.com/capital_city_cowboys.htm

Questions?  Email newton2@kansas.net - If anyone is interested in camping, let me know and we'll check at the gun club.  There is room for dry camping and some hook-ups as well.  We'll need to double check on the camping to make sure there is no problem or conflict with other events at the range.

If you are going to be in the area, we would love to have you join us!!

Major Lewis, sir, we moved the date to July hoping that would work better with your schedule!

We're looking to enlist a Color Guard!!!!!!!  Volunteers?

We're also taking with some folks for appropriate instrumental accompaniment.

We will be sending a News Release to the Capital City Journal - A Celebration of our Troops!  We hope the local news will find this a fitting event for coverage.

That's an open weekend. Any chance there'll be any Wild Bunch? I've got lead bullets for my 1911 now  ;D

Interested in a Wild Bunch side match huh??  Wild Bunch Team shoot on the side??  - I've got a great Wild Bunch Team Shoot scenario - 4 person team - each person shoots 2 guns - it's a fun one!  If we get enough interest, we can do it!  Bring you 1911 and throw in a 97 shotgun too and ammo - we can do it!

Quick Fire - THANK YOU!!  Count yourself in the Color Guard!!

Chantilly,
Will NCOWS rules apply to firearms as well?
Thanks

Major Matt Lewis

Hoov,

I would assume since Topeka is a SASS club, SASS firearms rules would apply....of course you know what happens when we assume.

Sorry for the late reply.  I just got back from Dodge City - on the road for work.  Dodge is still there!

About the guns - did you have something in particular in mind??

Unfortunately, the last weekend in July every year is my wife's family reunion - and I mean FAMILIY REUNION - all decendants of their ancestor who immigrated from Ireland in the 1880's.  We will be in Williamsburg, KS, closer to Topeka than I am right now, so cannot attend shoot, but may persuade the wife to leave after lunch, so maybe catch (spectate) the end of the match?

Good News & Bad News...there are 5 full weekends in July this year. The Topeka shoot will be the fourth weekend, if your family reunion is the last weekend then it would be on the 29th-30th.  That's the good news, the bad news is the last weekend is also our annual NCOWS marathon Congress meeting in Iowa so tell Penny we won't be able to crash the reunion party.

Guns....just tell the family you have a very special good ol' fashioned Irish reunion planned this year and sign 'em up for the Mini-Muster!   ;D

Duh...

Somehow I read the 23rd as the 27th, and without looking at a calendar, I figgered that would make it the last Sunday.  SO.... looks good; we are arranging our schedules to see.
