Thanks for the wishes, Pards, it's mighty nice of ya'.  Them travelin' words are interesting, too.  Say, Trinity, where did you get that stuff about hippopotomeeses and birds?  I have never seen anyone besides myself use that particular greeting, before; I got it from a card that was given to a friend many years ago; she thought it was about the most clever thing that she had ever seen.

Now, here's a question for the lost and found, and even though I'm s'posed to be the manager, I don't know the answer: I ain't seen much of Forty Rod recently, has he gone missing?  I haven't checked the "Coffee, etcetera" thread, but he seems to have gone quiet, where I have been looking.  Anybody know?  I do know he's about to have a birthday purty quick, but can't recomember 'xactly when.

I get an E-Mail joke from him everyday or so to lighten up my day so he's still alive.  I think he's busy on another project, if he don't liven up a bit soon I'll rattle his cage. ;D

EP, that saying was hanging on the wall in my fourth grade music class.  I don't know why, but it just came back to me while I was reading the greetings to you. ;D

Well, Trinity, that could very well be; I think it was around 1975 to -78 when I saw it on that card my friend had - of course, I surely don't know it's origin or age.

Speaking of leather book covers, I have that as a new project, now; got to round up some lightweight tooling leather, and some appropriate lace, so I can make a slip on book cover for my grandson's "Boy Scout Handbook" that I took him to get today.  He is bridging from Webelos in a couple of weeks, the third generation of Scouts in the family - I made it to Life before I turned seventeen, my little brother made Eagle, and has been active continuously for 52 years, now, both of my boys were Scouts, and I did leadership duties for those years, and now my grandson is carrying on and his dad is in leadership.

SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. - Workers found a human foot among tons of trash at a landfill outside Fredericksburg this weekend, police said. Police said they were combing through the debris at the Livingston Landfill in Spotsylvania County after workers found the foot about 3 p.m. Saturday.

"The only thing we know at this time is that it is a left foot," Sheriff Howard D. Smith told the Free Lance-Star.

On Sunday afternoon, police said they had found no other parts to go with the appendage. The foot was sent to the state medical examiner's office, the sheriff said.

Back about 5 years ago or so they had a news story about finding a human male appendage layin' in a car wash in Kearney .  "Bout 3-4 days later they said "Never Mind."  it was just a cow udder.

SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. - Authorities said that a foot found on Saturday in a Spotsylvania County landfill was not human after all.

A search for a body through 127 tons of trash at the Livingston Landfill was called off Monday morning after state medical examiner's office cleaned and X-rayed the foot and determined it was not human but possibly that of an apelike species, Spotsylvania County Sheriff Howard Smith said.

"The good news is that we don't have a homicide," he said.

Smith said that about 35 fire and rescue and sheriff's employees searched the landfill near Fredericksburg for about an hour on Monday after spending all day Sunday searching through about half of the trash. Searchers used heavy machinery, rakes, cadaver dogs and hand sifting.

They will not look for the rest of the animal the foot belonged to.

Landfill workers found the left foot at about 3 p.m. on Saturday as they cleaned the treads of a bulldozer. The foot appeared to have been sawed off above the ankle, Smith said, and it was just skin and bone, no hair.

According to Smith, a member of the medical examiner's office who went to the landfill on Sunday also believed it to be a human foot because it appeared to be about the same size.
