Delmonico cuts Trinity a slice of Sarvis Berry (Service Berry) pie and coveres it with sausage gravy. :o

Del, do you have Sarvis?   we got a bunch of it,  it's always the very first thing to bloom in the spring.  you about got to fight the bears off to get any berries, they love em.

we also got paw paw trees,  I've yet to see one of them fruit,  people say they do some years, so I got a standing order for a few paw paws  just to say I've eat one.

There are a few around, Grandma had one at the farm as long as I can remember, it died last winter.

I never had heard of a sarvis until I moved to Arkansas, they are thick here, and the wildlife seem to really love the berries.  when you get down into the Arkansas river valley  south of where I live,  there are no sarvis there.
