Howdy Y'all, I just added to my collection of Ruger 3 screws, I was at Gander Mountain yesterday looking for a canopy for my Wife and decided to check out the used guns, I saw an Old model 3 screw Single Six with a 5 inch barrel and the ugliest fake stag grips I ever saw. price was $235, so I bought it. Checked the Ser # out and found that it was made in 1958...I'm a happy Cowboy.
Oh...and Yes, I got the canopy for my wife too... ;D

I called Ruger Records today, They told me the pistol was shipped in May of 1958, They're sending me a Factory letter for the gun.

I had a similar experience and came home with one with a 6.5 inch barrel.  If I recall it was born in 62, a 3 screw, great shape.  I also have one of thos alluminum made ones that dates from 56.  It just gets to sit and look at the others when they go out and play.  Great fine you got there and I guess I am now going to look out for the 3 screw ones and just buy what I can when it hits me good between the eyes.

CLF - who may have just expanded his love and search today to include these great old rugers.  ;)
