I have visited bunches of web sites looking for black powder to purchase and have decided to defer to experience. Where do you buy on line? I'm shooting 58 Remingtons and have ordered a 1860 Army Colt. I've already went through the 1 lb of triple 7 the local gun store had and the local Wal Mart's don't handle it except during deer season. Any thoughts?

All I did was name it 'n get it started. The posse made it great. A debt I can never repay. Thank you, mi amigos.

Yup! http://www.powderinc.com/ is a good outfit to do business with. They made a mistake on my last order, transposed numbers on a mixed order, and they sent me the correct number to make it right...no charge!

A great source is Graf and sons Inc.  They have their own brand, made by Wano in Germany, very good and economical, currently about $10.70 a pound.

One tip, ask everyone you know who uses black powder if they want any and make a bulk or case order.  You will have to pay a Haz-Mat fee for shipping, around $20, and it's the same if you buy one can or fifty.  If you get some friends to go in on the purchase with you, you can spread this expense out among you.  Some dealers also discount for large orders.

I have done a lot of business with Davis Distributing in Ohio.  Once they know you, you can just call, tell them what you need and they send it with a bill.  No extra charge for credit cards, no trying to figure out shipping.  Highly recomended.
