I just purchased one and was wondering what I can do to let the barrels open up further and stay open. When I open the action the barrels have a tendency to want to close up a bit. It is a 12 guage if that makes a difference.

  Thanks

Major 2

The Remington is the Beikal, and though I had neither, I'm told it was the same as my Old Stoeger.
Polish the hinge area and the forearm to hinge mating surface.
Some lightened the lever spring, But I found it unnecessary.
I did have to deburr the ejector/lifter rod and bore...

I also needed just a bit of valve grinding compound on a sacrificial 12 gauge bore mop turned on my cordless drill to get the hulls to slip out slickly....

when planets align...do the deal !

check out the maurader website. the problem is not the hinge but the cocking levers. on his site, he gives you a email address for papa dave. you can get new cocking levers for 25 buck. i bought em and they work perfectly.
