Sir it is my honor to report that my final piece of literary art will be handed in today at Command and Staff College.

My work on,  "Hurricane Katrina: The need for Professional Military Education (PME)/Personal Qualification Standards (PQS) systems for contingency/disaster relief operations.", has been a challenge - but is complete.

I was honored by the PHD's as being selected as one of the best oral defense's they had heard this academic year - I found it easy to defend my position due to all the research I had to do and how strongly I feel on the subject - suprise, surprise!

Well Done!

A long time ago, in a Corps far, far away, I did mine on the Battle of Hue to demonstrate the difficulties in shifting from one style of warfare to another - specifically going from counter-insurgency in a jungle environment to fighting regulars in an urban environment.  We weren't allowed to select our own topics but had to pick from a short list presented to us.  My group had to do urban warfare and I had to choose between Hue or Inchon.  Eventually, this led me to do my master's thesis on the Seige of Khe Sanh.

Drove by Buzzard's Point yesterday on my way to the Pentagon and thought about you (though I knew you were still at Quantico).

Tks for the kudos everyone.

Pitspitr - I have been given the great honor to work for the office of Defense Policy at Coast Guard HQ in Washington DC with part time work at the Pentagon.

I will be the junior member of the staff and the only Patrol Boat, small boats, helicopters - combined Operations ashore guy on staff - it is starting to sound like I maybe quite busy!!

But I prefer busy!!
