Sir, Staff & Etc.,
It is with great Honor that this Office will help in the Promulgation, Promotion and Positing of the Dept. of the Missouri, GAF. As the Summer Campaigns begin, all efforts will be made to encourage Enlistments, etc., at various and sundry Events. As the Intelligence is gathered and garnered, the interest level will no doubt increase, and Recruits become more readily available, etc.
This Office is looking forward to a most Positive year and growth in the Ranks.

Well.. military order will suffer, that is for sure..

I am honored that Jerry considered me for the position and I look forward to an increase in activity amongst the GAFers in the central corridor.
Let's keep it fun and active.

Adios,

Thank you for being you.. Annie Lee!

Ol Gabe

Chief of Staff, Dept. of the Missouri, Bvt. Lt. Col. B.H.F., Sir,
As Dept. Adjt. I have the Honor to report that your fair State of Texas is in a Neck-to-Neck tie for Enrollments with the Honorable State of Nebraska, the level of Recruits for same being 24 each, m/l. After further verification of same the number may increase or decrease exponentially, however, a Challenge is now in effect to increase same by this Office, and as such, the Gauntlet has now been thrown down.
To wit, a Challenge is now on the table between the State of Nebraska and the State of Texas to see who can increase their resepective Recruits into the GAF in the next calendar year. This Office thinks in all fariness that this is a more than doable Challenge in that the State of Texas is far larger than Nebraska, however, the State of Nebraska has larger items of note, some far more than others, and as such can be a very Potent Opponent for the State of Texas in this Challenge.
The Challenge will conclude on or about 30, September next, thusly giving this Office time to collate the final tally in time for the Grand Muster held the first weekend of October next. The final tally wil be made known then and a Prize of some note presented to an Appointed State Representative present at the Banquet that Saturday evening. This Office alone is responsible for the Challenge and the Prize, no Dept. funds will be allocated from Stores, etc., as this is a Challenge for the enjoyment of the hobby and the increase in numbers in the GAF, nothing more, nothing less, and as such this Office hopes that all other States in the Dept. of the Missouri will step up and participate, and if possible, exceed the present numbers for each State. If those numbers surpass those of Texas or Nebraska, whichever has 'won' the Original Challenge, a 'Special' Prize wil be awarded as such, to honor the degree of Perseverance put forward to do same.
As this Challenge goes forth, please forward any and all new Recruit info to this Office or that of the Dept. Commanding Officer for inclusion in Records, etc. I should also like to remind all that there has been in the most recent past a downloadable 'Recruitment Poster' on the GAF website, please use same or create one of your liking and post same here for others to see how you are promoting the Dept. and the search for new Recruits!
This Office hopes that all will join in this Challenge and we are looking forward to a great year!
I remain, etc.,
'Ol Gabe,
Bvt. Capt.,
Adjt.

Gentlemen,
I have the honor to report that I have retained Richard "Bear" Sobek in the position of Sgt. Major of the Department. Bear is a very serious reenactor and historian. I believe he will be an oustanding addition to my staff.
Also I'd like to report that in the spirit of nepotism that was such a prevalent practice in the victorian military, I have retained my son Jacob in the position of drummer for the Department, but in addition I've also assigned him to be my striker. When I told him that I was making him my "Dog Robber" he said, "Ok, but what's that mean." I told him that that meant that when we go to a shoot and I forget something in the pickup, he has to go get it. :) He thought for a second and asked, "So how does that change anything?" ::)

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Grand Army of the Frontier,

I have the honor to report that Trap (John Torrence) has accepted command of the Division of Kansas. While I realize that his committments to NCOWS already keeps him quite busy, I believe it is that same energy and involvement that will make him an excellent Division commander.
