Looking for heavier Elk Leather

I am finding a lot of nice Elk hides in 3-4 oz and some 5oz, but can not find any 6-7oz. Does anybody have any leads on full hides of Elk that is heavier? I don't know if you can get Elk this heavy, if not let me know so I can quit looking. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have talked to these folks Klondike and they tell me elk over 5oz is very rare.

Thanks Sleep, you confirmed what I was afraid of. I guess I will be looking at Buffalo instead.
