I had along my Taylors, as my uncle wanted to take a look. He didn't have a table at the show this year, but, has in the past.
(he has some 4 bore and 8 bore double guns... he is mainly a shotgun man)

Anyhow, I stopped at 3 tables and found pretty good condition spencers. 2 were 1865 carbines in 56-50. One was (what was left of one) a rifle in 56 Spencer.

The carbines were going for $5K+ and the rifle was $1500.

I talked to the guys with the carbines and asked if they had the new Italian made one. They had not, so, I asked nicely the show folks and brought in my carbine. The cop working the show asked that I not chamber the "dud"/"blank" round, but, keep it in my pocket.

Lots of folks gathered around and thought the Taylors/Armi Sport Spencer carbine was going to be their next purchase.

3 guys asked for my email address for the cutdown molds. ;)

Afterwards, my uncle and I went to Perkins and had dinner... we talked guns and ammo for 2 hours. Went through 2 things of coffee and stayed for desert.

Excellent day... fine way to spend a Saturday.

report from a friend attending the timonium, maryland antique gun show (one of the biggest on the right coast) this past month reports the same $5k figure for spencer carbines. makes me look at my model '65 with new respect. on another note...those of you collecting ww2 weaponry be advised that m-1's in good condition were starting at $2.5k at the timonium, maryland gun and knife show in february. other u.s. weapons such as .30 carbines, o3-a3's, and p-17's were pushing $1k! scary...
